I just learned about
this website dealing Incontinence and E.D. issues following radical prostatectomy. I wish I had known about
it before.
I had surgery 5 years ago, and a urinary sling 2 years ago . I have severe stress incontinence from the outset, which has not improved.I have learned to live with it and manage very well.
I am 74 years old, and semi-retired. I do consulting work out of my home office, and am in good health.
I use a MIC (Male Incontinence Clamp) which I have found to be much better than the cunningham clamp, or the other similar clamps. I use 4 or 5 pads a day, and even with the clamp. When pressure builds up, I do feel pain and have to loosen the clamp, but usually it is convenient for me to urinate every couple of hours so the pressure doesn't build up.
I suggest you look into it the MIC, by e-mailing Paul Davis http://
[email protected], for information. It really works well. It's plastic, very finely engineered, and is compact.
I have been considering an AUS 800, but frankly have been scared off by the reports of problems that I have read about
.
Would love to hear from someone who has had good experience and can recommend a good surgeon. I have had a urodynamic test and have been told I am a good candidate. How long is recovery?
Any comments, or questions welcome.
