neil, my brother, i know your story all too well first hand. hope you get some quick release, are you able to self cath, cant remember?
if it gets too bad and you cant make it till morning, be sure to go to ER, let them know that you had surgery so they can talk to your doctor or whoever is on call. let me know how it goes.

i was not a good candidate for self cath, glad you have that ability, with what your doctor saw, surprised that he/she didnt want to do either a hard or soft dialation with the scope up you, or possibly a small surgical correction like I have had done 2x before.

there's no pain like a backed up bladder, plus it can be dangerous and cause bad complications.

i hate it when things happen like this on a sunday or weekend, hopefully your doc should see you immediately if you are blocked up.

If it plugs completely, get to the emergency room. If it flows slow, get to your doc. Some of these issues do get better with time but you want to be under close medical supervision. Pain may be a sign of infection, something else your doc can check. One of the important issues is can you empty your bladder completely. This can be easily checked by ultrasound in your doctor's office.
