18 - Month PSA – Still ZERO

 

90 – Days of being a NON Smoker (after smoking thirty years)

 

 

Thanks to my Virtual On-Line Brothers. I couldn’t have gotten this far without you guys.

 

Now if I could just loose 20lbs of this gut that hangs over my belt - I'd be in good shape.

Quitting the smokes is a great accomplishment. I am very glad to hear it.

Well neighbor...fantastic news. Glad you quit smoking and being an ex-smoker myself, all I will say is that it gets easier and easier as time goes by...unlike uh hum those quarterly or semi-annual psa tests. They never get any easier to wait for the results.

Congrats on another zero there buddy...I know you are just sitting there all calm and such...probably just sipping on a beer saying ho-hum.

Congrats to you! I have never smoked (Well did sneak one or two as a teenager). I was OVERWEIGHT when I found out about my prostate cancer! I tackled the weight issue and lost 35 pounds by the date of my surgery. (about 3.5 months) So set yourself a goal and you can do it. I've lost another 5 since my surgery in August. 0 on Psa 0 on Cigs but you can get the 20 on weightloss!

Great news and great work on both fronts Steve. I quit smoking 30 some years ago after starting in the Army. That's what you did back then, now we know a little better. Hope the zeros keep on rolling in for you as well.

Hi Steve,

Congratulation on your latest PSA zero and a special congratulation on giving the coffin nails the boot. You obviously have great willpower and I'm sure you can correct your little weight issue. I know from personal experience how tough it is to quit smoking and to control weight problems, but with a little motivation, I know that you will succeed.

Congrats on the zero, man. Now where's rob2? He was about our time also.

As for cigarettes - I cannot imagine how hard it is to quit after 30 years, but I believe the medical evidence confirms that quitting smoking is the SINGLE healthiest thing you can do for your body. And your body will repair itself as much as possible over time - so you are actually getting healthier every day! Sweet.

Great news, good job.

Maybe you can get a man girdle, or get a stretching machine. Most of us have a height issue which makes our weight seem disproportionate.

Great news, Steve, on that wonderful zero, that has to feel good.

And great too on the no more smoking, that will help the rest of your life too, I quit a full year ago on the night before my surgery.

Congrats on the Zero for sure. I am an ex smoker as well. After you quit long enought the smell of cig smoke is just disgusting.

Thanks for the well wishes...

I never knew how bad smokers breath was till I quit.....Still working on getting the smell out of the house and SUV...

Check this out: I would buy two cartons of smokes at a time = $122.00 per trip times three trips per month = $366.00 PER MONTH

I'll be credit card debt free much sooner turn

Hi Steve,

Curious; did you go cold turkey on the smoking? I did really good after dx, stopped cold for while and stupidly...started again. Only have a few, now. That last bit is tough to get rid of.

I did ->  "standard behavioral counseling" with my shrink. It was almost but not quite-> Hypnosis...

As you know...The KEY is that you have to want to quit.

My 51 year old co-worker went to the same doc. She quit the same day and hasn't looked back....It's been real painless smilewinkgrin
