My hyperbaric oxygen treatments were daily, except weekends and holidays, for 2 hrs each. No pain, just anxiety about being enclosed in a plexiglass tube sized for one. Also, concern about clearing my ears; they increased the pressure in the chamber to 2.5 times atmospheric pressure. And, most of all, fear of needing to use the rest room during the 2 hrs. Fortunately, I never had to.
I was not allowed to take any materials into the chamber. Wore only a cotton gown, had my wedding ring taped, to avoid any static electricity - I didn't want to make headlines by creating an explosion in the chamber.
One final comment: the doctor and three nurses who operated the facility and the office staff were top notch. I'm going to honor them this coming Tuesday with a "Humanitarian Award" presentation and a cake that says: "To the Angels of the Baltimore Washington Wound Care Center - Thank You"
