...I am really pleased! This week marks one year since I had my brachytherapy. I had an appointment with my uro and he was equally delighted that my one year PSA is now down to 1.0 (it was 1.4 at the 6 months mark). We still don't know what the nadir will be, but it should continue to drop for another year or so.
I feel blessed that it looks like I am progressing this well and I am most likely "cured". Of course, none of us know whether we are truly cured as the beast could always return, but I like my odds at this point. I also am happy to report that the SE's remain invisible...no urinary or bowel issues and my sex life is still robust (well, not like I'm 20...but robust for us old men!). I know that there is still the possibility of ED down the road, but I'll enjoy it while I can.
I also feel blessed to have found HW over a year ago. This is a great site full of knowledgeable and caring folks and I'm happy to be a part of it. While I'm "up", I'll take this time to wish all of you a happy and (especially) healthy holiday season.
