Treatment #39 yesterday and, boy, am I glad that's done. No harsh side effects, though I kept waiting for them to show up. Occasional irritable bowel and sudden exhaustion the last week or so. They told me on Monday that I would graduate yesterday, so, being the scamp that I am, I tucked one of my kid's old graduation gowns under my coat, went into the changing room, and VOILA! They said no one had ever done that before. They were laughing so much that a bunch of office doors
opened up in the hallway and I had to have my picture taken with my cheesy diploma. Always leave 'em laughing.
Kind of a bittersweet moment in that the techs I had were always the same folks, congenial, humorous, infinitely professional, and just an all around bunch of good folks. Seems that I was the youngest one they were treating at the time(Pause to muddle that one). When I started there were 52 guys, when I left, 26. This clinic only treats prostate cancer and I can't say enough how kind they were to everyone. I bought the girls those barrette reindeer horns, as the one male tech was wearing an elf hat with the pointy ears. I told them I didn't think it was fair for him to be the only one sporting holiday headgear.
All my questions were answered to my satisfaction and I would have no qualms about recommending this facility to anyone. So, all done before the holidays, don't need to go back to work until 1/4 and I think I'll spend a little time in the afternoons holding down the couch for a little well-earned shut eye, wake up to catch KU (#1) basketball, and enjoy the family.
Happy holidays to all, and to all...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
