Well treatment #2 is in the books.It was a little less traumatic than the first(I was a little nervous to say the least)I think they will get easier as they go.And also they cut me back to 37 treatments instead of 45.Thank all of you for caring enough to listen to me whine.

I think you will find that the whole series will be somewhat uneventful. The only thing that got me was the fatigue. Mine was done around 10am in the morning and I went right back to work. Keep us posted please.

Hi Zach,

A philosopher once said "the things he woied most about in his life were those that never happened". Hope the treatments remain uneventful and that is good news on the reduction. I did not see any side effects until #25.

zach, glad its working out, that's quite a reduction in treatments. are they going to give you the same amount of radiation but with less treatments, or cutting back the actual amount of radiation? if it were me, i would want to know the answer. you only get one shot at this radiation now, and they usually want to give as many gys. as they think appropriate. when i went through mine, i was afraid they were going to increase from 39 to 45, as it had been talked about a time or too. good luck

Hi Zach, glad you got the first one under your belt (I guess figuratively and literally). I was a very apprehensive too. In my case the rad. guy increased my treatments from 35 to 39. Yesterday I asked why, he stated that I would be given the same total radiation but at bit lower dose each session (and perhaps less side effects). He also indicated he may add more or less depending on the results of a psa test he will have me take in the 5th week. Every rad. guy seems to have his/her own tweek of the protocol. Probably doesn't make a big difference except as David implied regarding the total radiation.

That sounds like what they are doing with me, lower dose towards the end. Not sure if that is standard or not.
