Detrol LA for bladder spasms?

After being on ditropan on and off, mostly on, for over a year for bladder spasms.  I am now trying Detrol LA 4mg once a day, to see if it will help.  Never been on it before.   Since the spasms have been getting worse here lately, both in quantity and intensity, figured I had nothing to lose.

Have any of you ever been on it before, and did you get good results?  Always leary to try new medications.

Detrol seemed to be the standard anti-spasm for all the docs I talked to. I only needed it for a few days after surgery. I thought it worked great for me

Thanks Paul. Do believe I had become immune to ditropan. Got a two week free trial of the Detrol, least I only have to take one capsule a day instead of 3-4 pills a day. Hopefully it will help.

hi David, My Dr. had me on Detrol LA for the first 10 days after surgery. Can't realy say if it worked or not, but I never had any spasms. I hope it works for you! I've been following your story and you could use some good news! Larry

So far, after just the one Detrol, which is a daily med, no let up on the pain or spasms, might not be enough chance for the med to work, dont know, in touch with my uro as I speak

My doctor gave a prescription for it after my surgery. I only had to take one or two pills and it worked for me.

It's hard Ed, when you are dealing with multiple dozens of spasms a day, right now, nothing is helping, makes me want to just loose the one offending catheter that is causing all the pain, but that would be counter productive.

Hi David, just dropped by to say hope the new drug works for your bladder spams. If not, perhaps acupunture? Might be worth investigating...just a thought.

my future daughter in law suggested acupuncture just minutes ago, lol, not into stuff like that, but not saying it doesnt work for some people
