Met with my Uro/Surgeon today for a 6 month post-op visit. Happily it was strictly a hands-off affair. He is satisfied with my progress, so after 14 more RT treatments followed by one more Lupron shot on 3/1, I should be able to sit back and monitor psa’s.

 

The doc was wearing a blue prostate awareness ribbon on his lab coat. When I admired it, he removed it and handed it to me. I will proudly wear it everywhere I go, and hopefully it will generate some questions and discussion about PCa and raise awareness for testing. blush

sounds good for you Roger - glad you he shared his pin with you - I had the pleasure of sharing my awareness pins with those who have helped me

- in a previous post, I mentioned a twice-cancer survivor who makes & sells awareness pins - http://www.pinkwings.com
- and I got a great "art deco" style blue awareness ribbon ( actually 20) to give away - I will be ordering new ones soon
- she also has a retro-style blue ribbon as well as a blue motorcycle pin - We have a RIDE FOR DAD campaign up here in June ( Father's Day month) -

-that is also why I posted the notice regarding a politician in Canada who is being treated for Prostate Cancer - the more exposure - the more men that can be helped.

More people need to understand the blue, that is for sure. Seems like the "pink' is so known and spread, never needs explaning. My daughter still proudly wears here blue ribbon decals on her Vespa whereever she drives.

Half way through and then you can just wait for the zero's to come in. That's was nice of the doctor to give you his pin. Maybe he'll give me one next week.

Let's get these pins out to the HW guys. We all need to keep spreading the word.

Maybe Peter could get a batch and sell them for $5, and use the money for the HW site.

the moderators can't say, Peter would have to be asked if he was willing, but I suspect he might be too busy. The way he sells the books now is trhu Amazon, so he doesn't have to do any of the grunt work. In any case, if he didn't sell them, we'd have to remember that the sale of them by individual,s even for 'good causes' is still against the rules here. Wouldn't want anyone to stumble into trouble while selling anything here. It's just the way it is, I'm afraid.
