Considering you had an orihectomey and radiations those number don't jive. Perhaps leave chemo for possible later choices it drags your whole system down in the process. You can use alot things that you don't know about
, see Dr. Strums book or websites (book- A Primer on Prostate Cancer has many listed therein)
Some Choices: ketoconazole, des, estradiol patches, side effects on those 3 are not too bad is what is said about
them in general, (maybe)-emcyt
Others more bizzare to us: thalidomide, revlamid, leukine, megace, strontium, satraplatim, valproic acid, carbolplatin, tamoxiphen, mitoxantrone, Sulindac, Exisulind, IMC-A12, MDV3100(super casodex), quadrmet, OGX-011, provenge(vaccines), Exisulind, astrasentan ABT-627, Aptaone, Alphadradin, Abirterone acetate, Degarelix (just FDA approved recently), Gleevec, Ertinolib, Vitaxin, ZD4045, Ixabepilone, Gvax, Iress, KOS-862 and much more is used in the fights against PCa. Superior onco-docs would know something about alot of these.
You need a PCa oncologist, most of the uro-docs are using about 4-5 drugs usually and that is their sphere of drug prescribing is most cases.
Seek and you shall find, see www.prostate-help.org and other sites for heavy duty education. Myself after doing the uro-docs ADT3 combo for 2 yrs., looked for better control with less side effects, found it in using DES 1-mg w/coumadin blood thinner 2-mg., used it intermittently for 4 yrs. or so, out performed the ADT3 in psa tests-lowered-stabilized and continued to work, ADT3 failed and had 8 rises in 8 months 5+ yrs. ago. I am 8 yrs. since diagnosed with bad stats and was originally total urinary blockage because of PCa...that is bad clue as to how much a patient would be dealing with..and I was...probably no cure longer term...I will take the longevity I can get and especially with little or no side effects.
It is difficult to find docs whom know these drugs and will prescribe them, but search and find is the way it is. Some people did not think I would be here this long and I am in good health, thus far and can do most anything.
It takes effort to get what you want in PCa assistance, it is not easy enough.
