First post-op PSA result has arrived

I was hoping for the lowest possible result. In our lab it is stated as < .01/undetectable.

I didn't get that, but I did get 0.01.

From my reading here, I think that is pretty good.

Next one in 2 1/2 months.

- unfortunately, as you have demonstrated in your other posts, you are never satisfied.

Hey Mel....congrats!....are you sure you're not confusing the lab's lowest result as <0.1? That's how mine reports, and I take that as a statistical zero. If you are in fact getting a reading of .01, then you're indeed on top of the world, stat-wise. Rejoice, and here's looking forward to many more results like this one.

Mel...the prostate isn't the only gland that can produce psa. Your results could be detecting psa from those other glands i.e. cowpeppers and adrenal glands.

Congrats on the zero club membership...now forget PCa for awhile and breathe a little.

Mel, congratulations. 0.01 is excellent and well below the <0.1 which defines undetectable.

Mel, just got home, you got the best news possible, at major zero and as I hoped, and easy entry into the Zero Club.

You mentioned a remark about getting a .01. You realize there would never be a .00 or a -.01 psa. Yours is as close to a pure zero as you could ever hope. I would view that as fantastic news. Hopefully you will stay that way for a long long time.

Now is the time to kick up your heels and celebrate.

Great news. Pleased to hear it. Don't stress if it goes up in time, as ours did minimally in time (see sig) - My husband is a 3 year survivor and has made a complete and full recovery. He is cancer free, and we have many days now when this is not on our mind 24/7. We wish you well, Mel and a complete recovery now that this big first PSA post-op milestone is past.
