Oh Dear, I have been banned !

I was just banned for the second time. This time for 'discussing other forums'.

I simply said to another poster that I was 'healing well'. That got me kicked off again.

The upside of this thread is that it seems to be underlining a fact that has often been mentioned in the past and is definitely worth repeating, namely the fact that the moderators at HW do an excellent job.

You are right about the chat with Medved. I had simply asked in survey format what results guys have had as far as ED rehab post RP as far as pills, shots, pumps, etc. Right now I am doing none of those and I fear the train is leaving the station on me. That particular question or survey got only one reply and that caused my good brother Medved to 'wink-wink' the suggestion to try the question here at HealingWell. The mod there is very touchy for sure, and I do applaud our mods here at HealingWell for being much more lenient. Saying all of that though, I have to credit the other site for giving me excellent help during those first few months, before I descovered HW. So even if I am permanently banned I will forever be grateful to the posters there that helped me in my hours of urgent need.

Well, as far as other forums, I have no comment about them. If we really wanted to moderate to the letter of the law here, we could be that strict. The present and past moderators that I am familiar with here on PCa have always allowed much more latitude with that. I know some others on other HW forums are a lot stricter than we are. Things have always been less formal and rule oriented here at PCa than some of the other forums on HW and I think its a result of the flexibility and history of the current and past mods and a group of members who don't try, for the most part, to take advantage of the more relaxed situation here. Speaking for the others, although we haven't really ever agreed as a group to do it, we aren't so strict about rules violations because we feel that any legitimate information, from whatever source, should be provided to the people showing up here asking for help, info, and advice. Cancer is scary enough by itself without throwing in turf wars and strict enforcement of some rules into the mix. Speaking for myself, I'll continue to allow and encourage sharing of other sources of info, help, etc. to people who ask for it here. I may be fired sometime in the future for doing so, but I really don't think so, as Peter does allow each forum to develop into it's own particular culture. Unless we have a wholesale replacement of mods, I don't see things changing much for us. The only time I will get my back up is when dealing with dirty rotten spammers...or breaking up fights....which fortunately is rarely a problem

Jerry, this is probably too late for you, but another end around I read about here is to try another browser. For the heck of it, I tried logging onto HB through Firefox and I got on no problem. Even though I am 'banned', at least I can read the recent posts.

James, that was a very honest and level-headed reply to this thread's main topic. I think most of us who have been down that PCa road are just trying to pay it forward in some small way and certainly not trying to cause any problems.

Is mentioning another useful health forum worthy of banning? Or mentioning God such a serious offensive? Or mentioning another website that is extremely useful to guys with PCa such a bad thing that a member gets banned? The other place apparently feels that way, and I for one, applaud the more relaxed atmosphere here at Healing Well, PCa forum.

Don't understand still. Why don't you guys make up your own board, control your own rules or lack of rules, and run it the way you think is fair. When you are on someone else board, you play by their rules, that's called life. Doing clever "coded" messages would piss me off too if it were my board.

Actually, that is allowed, or at least used to be. The requirement is that there be absolutely no commercial advertising on the link that you post to. There could not even be a link to any commercial site on the site that you link to. I was allowed to post links to The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism when discussing hypogonadism on the men's health board. I could also post links to the NIH site for the abstracts that they have there. I don't know if they have decided to now disallow even that, as I have not posted on that board for over a year.

What I got from HB is the good information and discussions on hypogonadism and sexual health. There is a Men's Health board and a Men's Sexual Health board. There were good discussions on TRT and the various ED drugs, including many of the OTC ones like Viapro and Rize2 (which were later found by the FDA to have sildenifil in them and are now useless without it). That board has the potential to be as good as the HW PCa board. If I had PCa than I would have no use for anything else than this board here on HW. It is the best. However, my current interest is hypogonadism treatments and the implications for PCa.

I found this board from Google searches for ED drugs. Then when my wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year (fortunately caught early at low stage and grade), I started to research ovarian cancer and PCa a lot. I have been on TRT for nearly 2 years and wanted to research as much as possible the implications as to PCa. This is also where I found the info on ADC. If HW had a men's general health board then I could see no use at all for HB for me. For now, I continue to read that board occasionally. They also have a hypertension board, so they are comprehensive, although overly restrictive (in my opinion). That limits their usefulness.

This thread has absolutely digressed into blather.
