Last IGRT Treatment Today - Issues with Cipro?

Finished last of 25 IGRT's this morning as a follow-up to BT on 12/11/09. All seemed to go well for the first three weeks....still had urgency/frequency effects but they were no worse.  On the third weekend, stated feeling some fatigue. The following day I started having flu-like chills and fever. After a couple of visits to the docs they believed it to be a bladder infection and I started a 10 day treatment of Cipro. The Cipro knocked out the fever and me with it (I have been off HW for a while). Due to the timing, I'll guess I will never know how much of the fatigue I am feeling right now was due to the rad, the "bug", the Cipro, of the combination of all three. Has anyone had any issues with taking Cipro? Now that the external rad is over, I'm looking forward to getting some "pep" back and getting the results of the next PSA test in 3 months. Would like to know if anyone else out there felt they had issues with tolerating Cipro. Thanks, Joe

You may get drowsy or dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how this medicine affects you. Do not stand or sit up quickly, especially if you are an older patient. This reduces the risk of dizzy or fainting spells.

What side effects may I notice from receiving this medicine?

Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:
•allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
•breathing problems
•confusion, nightmares or hallucinations
•feeling faint or lightheaded, falls
•irregular heartbeat
•joint, muscle or tendon pain or swelling
•pain or trouble passing urine
•redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
•seizure
•unusual pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
•diarrhea
•nausea or stomach upset
•white patches or sores in the mouth

a good link steve/dallas - and here is one of my pet parts of taking Cipro - what NOT to take..(c) from the website listed above

Avoid antacids, aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc products for 6 hours before and 2 hours after taking a dose of this medicine.
[which includes multi-vitamins with minerals, milk and yoghurt products -calcium, buffered pills] .ed

since it is a bother doing the before and after routine - your body won't be out of whack if you skip your one-a-day vitamin for a 10 day period - same with milk with breakfast -

And (once again) AFTER the 10 day Cipro is all done - and doctor gives you the all clear - for the next three days - a large tub of yoghurt ( with active culture - any flavour) each day for three days to help re-establish the flora and fauna in your lower digestive system...
