Does anyone knows hot to interprent the following pathology report statement (after prostatectomy)?   "Estimated volume of tumor: 0.34 cc Gleason score: 4+3; primary pattern 4, secondary pattern 3. Estimated volume > Gleason pattern 3:   90%."   If the dominant patern is 3, why Gleason score is 4+3 (but not 3+4)?

Ill give you this much. It is a unique way of saying things. My take (not a physician,) is: The statement of confusion (estimated volume> Gleason Pattern 3: 90%) I interpret that statement as saying that the estimated volume of all cancer in your prostate indicated that 90% was 3 or greater . Does that make any since? Hero

It says estimated greater than glson 3 is 90% hence 10% 3,, 90% 4.
