A sprinkle rather than a stream when urinating?

It has been 6+ months since my surgery (DaVinci) and I still haven't had a steady stream when urinating.  If I sit on the bowl, no problem, I have a steady stream. If I stand, I sprinkle all over the place.  I memtioned it to my doc and he said it had to do with balance.  I'm not buying it. When does the steady stream return? 

I haven't moved past 3 pads per day (2 during the day and 1 at night).

I can only comment on my individual case, but I had the same problem after my open procedure. However, I recovered quickly and now 65 days post op I have a stream I haven't had for years and almost complete control. I wear a light pad during the day as sometimes when I stand or move quickly to one side, I leak a bit (coughing too).

I have to add that some of the progress was unexpected. My doctor made clear I need to get off the pads and put me on an aggressive regiment. No pads at night and a reduction from regular to lightpads, then no pads during the day (still not to that point yet). He explained that part of retraining the muscles and gaining control is not only physical, but mental. Each process compliments the other while building confidence and reducing reliance on a pad. I was skeptical, but I did it. One day I was leaking and the very next day I was fine. Maybe it was the walking, maybe it was paying more attention to the task at hand, but it worked. I'm not sure if this applies to you Len, but if it does I hope it helps.

Bear is  almost 5 months post RRP and has the sprinkle standing or sitting.  Someone mentioned their surgeon said he erred on the side of smaller bladder neck resconstruction  with chance of lower stream rather than the other option with chance of incontinence.  At least I think that is what they said.  Gave us some peace of mind.  Rather have a sprinkle than a flood.

I had surgery years ago for a urethral stricture. My stream was like a spray nozzle causing me to pee over everything. I could not pee without getting the rim of the bowl wet unless I squatted down. The pattern was about a foot wide.
Take a picture of your stream while peeing and show him. "Balance" indeed.

Len I have a friend who has the same problem,it is almost four years and he has had four surgery because scart tissues.

I haD scart tissues problems a few weeks after surgery.you should be urinating like a horse do not waste time and ask your doc

to insert the camara to look inside good luck.yeah

Len, it's a "balance" problem? That was a pretty choice answer from your doctor, sure that was a big help to you. Does sound like it might be time to have a scope up your urethra so that a doctor can get a clear picture of what is going on. I hope you can find an answer and solution soon.
