I finished up my rad treatments almost 2 weeks ago (37) treatments. Up till the last couple weeks ED meds were working ok. Getting down to the last couple weeks of treatment until now the meds don't seem to work anymore. Also the doc did a testosterone check and found mine was at 150. He told me that as of now he doesn't recommend supplement testosterone replacement since it could cause the cancer to come back more aggressively if they missed any. Has anyone had a circumstance like this and what did your doc say?

I was told by my Radiation Oncologist that since I still had ED after surgery that I was likely to have an 80% chance of it continuing after radiation. But give it some time as yours might be temporary from tx. My guess is that you would likely get different answers from different Dr's regarding your situation. Best to you and hope it improves with time.

I no ED issues after open surgery, and have since been through SRT (39 sessions), six months have almost passed by, and still no ED issues. Think this would vary from man to man.

My ed wasn't a big problem after surgery and responded well with cialis, then not really needed just prior to SRT. During radiation I mentioned to the doctor that I seemed to be regressing some in the ed situation and he thought that over time this will be just temporary. Now about 2 months away from the SRT finish, I'm pretty much back to where I was prior... pretty good without cialis and best with about a half dose of cialis.

I had ED after prostatectomy, but was functional with Cialis. After SRT I didn't notice any change in the ED. Still 100% with Cialis.
It could be that SRT did have an effect--that maybe I would have recovered completely from ED had it not been for the SRT. I'll never know.
But I'm not complaining. I'm at least as potent as I was before the start of radiation, maybe even a little bit improved.
No incontinence from radiation, either.

Sometimes I wish I would have skipped surgery and gone straight to IMRT.

You might consider using a VED to keep your penis in the best possible health. You very well could improve after a while. But meantime, don't ignore what you can do to help it. Injections are a good alternative if you don't want to use a pump.
Find what you are comfortable with. Don't let this rob you of your sex life.
