Had volume study today

Had my volume study done today. All looks good to proceed with the seed implants.
Nurse gave me two 5 mg valium which I never felt any effect from.
Entire procedure lasted about 30 minutes. Very uncomfortable but tolerable.
Kind of like getting a 30 minute DRE. LOL
Lots of burning on urination after the cath came out but better after about 3 times.
No real reason to post this other than if someone else is considering this course to let them know it's not that big a deal getting a volume study.

Ray, congratulations on passing another hurdle.  Actually the volume study was the worst for me...it was the only stage of the game where I didn't have medication...my doc thought I was a wuss but I would have killed for the valium you had...LOL.  Anyway, now that that is done it's on to the final show which should be a piece of cake.  Please keep letting us know how you're doing.

John, FYI I had a catheter during my volume study as well.  I'm not sure why but I didn't think to ask.  I guess I was too focused on that big thing goin' up my...well, you know...

Ray, I have my volume study scheduled for 8AM sharp, Monday 5/24. This will be my second volume study and the first one was accomplished with a catheter but without any meds. Really wasn't that bad but I have been told that this second study on this coming Monday will NOT require a catheter. I'm going to remind them of that. I too was told that it was necessary for a catheter to be able to highlight the urethra. It it IS needed again Monday, I'll not complain as I want the seeds properly planted and not have one or two in the urethra because it was not easy for the Brachy expert to distinguish precisely where they should be placed.
Ray, just wondering what location you will go to for seed placing and when you are scheduled to receive them?? Thanks!
