Hopefully someone will chime in and let you know about their experience.

Unless you had steel plates put in or had a peculiar healing where things are misaligned, this sounds alittle peculiar. At worst case, they may refuse Davinci, but open should be viable.

I certainly would seek multiple opinions on this one.

It's believable to me. Just like blowing out a knee can mean a complete reconstruction of ligaments and surrounding tissue, I can see a broken pelvis doing the same thing. You have to remember that surgeons prefer to work on virgin tissue. Not sure of the specifics of this case, but if his doctor said he would not do it, you have to give that doctor credit for balking at it if he didn't feel comfortable doing the procedure.
