Hello and good morning to all,

Haven't been here for a little while and haven't done much posting. Really haven't had anything to update on my situation. But, in a couple of hours I have my next appointment with the RO to set up my treatment for the MET they found on my leg at the hip joint. My Oncologist had said in our last meeting that he would wait three months before my next PSA test but I decided I didn't want to wait that long. The way my PSA was jumping around and with the new found MET I wanted to know now. So yesterday while I was at MDA with my wife, I had them draw blood and run the ultra-sensitive test so the results would be there for my meeting with the doc.

I am just a little nervous about the MET. It may be my imagination but lately it seems as though I am feeling some discomfort in the area of the met. Sure hope it hasn't taken off and gone crazy in the last month. I remember in my last meeting with the RO when he asked me if I was feeling pain and at that time I wasn't.

I will update after the meeting.

BTW, need to get this stuff taken care of so Lynn and I can go on our next big RV adventure. This next one will be about 7-8 weeks. We are planning a Sept-Oct trip to and through the NE.

We are starting off the trip with a stop at Niagra Falls on our way to WorriedGuy's place for the GFMPH Annual Weekend Extravaganza. Sure don't want anything to interfere with this trip.

I hope that many of you are thinking about accepting Jeff's invitation to join us.

Sonny, best of luck on the PSA test. I resently had a false postive on a body scan and MRI. It took two weeks before the determined that the lesion was not PCa. I could swear that I was starting to feel irritation/pain in that area until the false positive was confirmed.

Regarding your trip. If you are going to get as far as Maine, I highly recommend a visit to Acadia National Park. I spent 3 days there in June. The place is fabulous. It should be really nice in late September/ early October. BB

Good to hear from you Sonny as we all keep you and Lynn in our thoughts and hearts. Hope the visit with the Dr leads to some good news, but keep us posted. New England would be a great place to visit and Maine is wonderful from Kennabunkport, Portland and on up the coast. Never have been to Acadia but hear great things about it. Take Lynn to the outlet Mall in Freeport and I will send you my wish list from LL Bean and Patagonia. Take care my friend and hope to hear from you soon.

Sonny --- wonderful to see your name next to a thread!

It's beginning to look to me like your RV will roll through here next summer, not this. I don't suppose you want to get caught in an early October snow storm, although it can still be quite nice here.

On the PCa I'll be watching for an update on your meeting. An update on Lynn, our honorary member, would be nice too.

Sorry for the phone tag. Will be waiting your next report. Acadia is nice, when lived in NH, went there bunches, Kittery Point also nice beach in ME, more private, Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth NH wonderful place. Of course, if you are close to I-85 heading northbound, bring that rig here, got room to park you

Good to see you posting again. It look like you are really enjoying your RV. I wish you the best for you PSA test. Your next RV trip north sounds great especially to those of us in Texas where temperatures are in the mid o high 90s. Good luck.

Thanks to all of you for the well wishes and great trip tips.

Just got back from seeing the RO. First it's great to be treated at a facility that houses it's own labs. Took my blood yesterday and the results were back for the meeting. My current PSA is 1.30. Now before you go off the cliff you have to understand that this was 2 months since my last test that was 1.20. The doc and I talked about this and what it says it that my PSA doubling time is lengthening out and the change is within the realm of numbers that I have established. He as much as said that we won't worry about it for now and it may turn out to be a number that I will live with for a while just because it is my number. We'll check it again after the radiation for the MET.

I went through the simulation and the tatooing process and am set up to begin rad treatment next Tuesday. We are set up for 10 treatments. He also said that I may be feeling a little something at the site, but that it does not mean that there have been any major changes since the test were done. On a pain scale of 1-10 it would be less than 0 anyway. Just a little something that I feel and that I know something is there.

So I would consider today a very good day. I am not bummed by the PSA numbers. Hey they are just my numbers. And as we all know and have said many times, we all react differently to PCa treatments and all of our cancers are different. This one is just MY cancer and for now my cancer numbers.

The Rad should be no problem and there should be NO side effects or discomforts.

You know me; EVERY DAY IS A BONUS. So I consider today a bonus day. We'll get the rad done and it will not interfere with my travel plans.

Thanks for the update, Sonny.

Sounds like you've got a great doc, and a great facility to look after you. And the PSA looks to be essentially flat. All in all, it's not only a bonus day, it sounds like a good one.

Thank you Sheldon. Yea I consider it a pretty good day. Like the doc and he has a really good reputation. Hope things are going well for you too.

I see you are one year and the PSA is LOOKING GOOD. Way to go brother, stay in that zero club as long as you can. I hear it's real nice in there. Sorry I haven't had a chance to visit it yet.

Yeah Sonny, I wish you were a zero too. Big time. I look at your stats and realize that they're just a hair width tip away from mine and I'm keenly aware, as my friend Sonny would say, each day in the zero club is a bonus. I know if could slide away at any time, and may very well. In the meantime I'm thrilled to have made the year.

Sephie, so good to hear from you again as well. I hope all is well with John. Yes we are planning the Great Northeast Trip for September-October. You know the usual, Niagra Falls, Boston, Bar Harbor, etc. Sadly I know that I will not be passing anywhere near NYC. I would surely love for Lynn and I to get a chance to meet you and John in person. It's not because of our route but rather the fact that the route I am planning insures that I will not pass through NYC. There is a lot of things that we want to see on our trip, but trying to negotiate a 40 foot RV towing a car through NYC is not something I am prepared to take on. LOL

Jeff, it looks like the GFMPH gathering is going to be a good one. See you there.

Sonny, it was good to have a long talk with you last evening. You know how I feel about you, your plans, your situation and Lynn. If you have time in this New England area trip to pass through the town of Tamworth, NH on Highway 25 (could be on your way to Maine, i.e., there is something I would love for someone to take a few pictures for us, our old colonial house.

Good luck on the radiation, you have been there done that much longer and much worse, this should be an easy phase for you.

David, I'll look up the town and if there is any way possible I will stop by and take the shots for you.

Not too worried about the rad this time around. The doc says that where it is being delivered I should not experience any side effects. Probably not even any fatigue.

The only thing I worry about is weight gain. When I go in for radiation, my habit is to stop by Dunkin Donuts every couple of days and take a few dozen in for the techs working there. Of course I have to have coffee and my fair share just to be sociable. This way they are always willing to schedule me for first thing (8am) in the morning and I have the rest of my day left.

I did put on a few pounds during the 7 weeks I was going through IMRT.

You gotta make the most of every situation. Can't let this stuff drag u down if you can help it. You should have seen the smiles and glad tidings when I stopped by yesterday to set up my schedule. I have been tabbed as "The Donut Dude".
