My surgery was 1/26 and my first PSA was 3/10. So, I guess the team at Ford Hospital uses about a 6-week interval for the first PSA test. After that, it's every 3 months for me.

Not sure if they are correct, but Cleveland Clinic's protocol has a post-op PSA at 6 weeks. I realize 90 days sounds like a more sure fire number, but most of the sudies posted that I could find, and somewhat understand, is that the half life of PSA is somewhere around 2 days. Based on those calcs, PSA readings should drop to undetectable by 3 weeks, if all of the PSA producing tissue was removed.

There are multiple possibilities here of course, such as remaining healthy prostate tissue which is producing PSA, or the obvious conclusion that there is a tumor somewhere that was missed, or systemic.

My best to you Pog, as you wait while the docs figure this out. It's the darn waitimg and uncertainty that makes this darn stuff so hard sometimes.

Seeing your biopsy and path results it is clear to me, in my amateur opinion, that you were systemic at surgery. 14+ cores of 15, 95% of core(s),mostly G4 and some G5. I was 4+4 (+5 tertiary), 11 of 12 positive, and post surgery psa was 2.7 @ 5 weeks confirmed @ 9 weeks at 2.7 again. Clear margins and no SVI, but N+. The little buggers are invisible.
With clear margins, the chance of successful radiation, with or without HT, is vanishingly small. Our G4 and G5 is the bad stuff.
