I bought the generic Viagra for my husband through ADC and it hasn't worked at all. His doctor is going to switch him to Cialis to see if that helps.

Why does the website say that Tadalifil is not for consumption in the United States?

There is a patent issue with the Cialis. They can only ship to you if the pills are to be taken when you are out of the country. They will ship to you in the US. If you order Cialis from them they will send you an e-mail with ways that you can get the pills.

If you get a US prescription, there has been a "first month free" offer from Cialis. The doctor gave me a sample that had the coupon which my pharmacy honored, but you can also get one on line at their web site. The quantity varies on the strength.

I'm on 5mg, and they gave me a 30 pill supply. If larger doses, they do smaller quantity.
I've had my prescription changed to the 20mg, since insurance will pay for only 8 per month regardless of strength, and (very carefully) cut them into quarters, more or less.

Even if you go the ADC route, you might have the prescription filled in the states just to get the free month.

To stay legal...many of us have had to do an awful lot of "traveling" outside the country. It's amazing how much time I've spent out of the US this year....

These drugs may be "working" for your husband, you may not realize it

How far post op is he ? If only a short time then the 1st step of the Ed drugs is to simply enhance healing and begin inducing nocturnal erections. You and He may not even notice these events but it is an indication that the drug is working

Another Viagra factor is that it is VERY dependent on the food that is consumed before and after taking. Done wrong little if any of the drug gets absorbed. Is your husband taking the Viagra 1 hr after his last meal and no meals for 2 hours after he takes it ?

Also, there are several Viagra generics on ADC, the cost varies greatly, as many reported here the cheaper version is not nearly as potent as the more expensive ones they sell

Set reasonable expectations when you say "I will get the first month free and if it works", it may be working behind the scenes

He's 3 months post-op. I don't remember which version I purchased from ADC. I also got some from One Dollar Pharmacy. I honestly don't know when he takes the stuff. It is his doctor's nurse that suggested he switch to Cialis. He goes back to see his surgeon next week, so we'll know more then.

MrGimpy has a point - I'm taking Cialis not to accomplish the advertised result (surgery negated that), but to encourage blood flow. Considering that, it would be difficult to say if it is "working" or not.

Mr. Gimpy's post is right on............I wasn't seeing any noticable 'action" at 3 months on ADC Viagra either. But shortly after, I began to get "plumping and saw some slow improvements. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Does your husband notice flushing, or stuffiness after taking the pills? How many mgs is he taking per dose?......check into these things as well as the ones pointed out by Mr. Gimpy before you decide that one PDE-5 is not working. Good luck.........

Ok, then have him try this

1) no eating one hour Before taking the Viagra
2) No eating Two hours After taking Viagra
3) He should feel like he has the beginnings of a head cold, congestion, stuffiness

To make any Oral Ed drug more effective he can take some L-Arginine ( walnuts have it) which increases blood flow as well. You can do a search on Google for arginine and Ed

Hows his BP ? That can have a great effect of his ED

lastly what is his Viagra dosage ? Many here need the full 100mg dose to see any results

As with most drugs some have different side effects, Cialis may cause back/muscle pain. Also note that a 5mg daily version is WAY less powerful that a 100mg Viagra. He may need the 20mg Cialis every other day to get any benefit

To see if the generics you have are doing anything step 3 must occur, get a real Viagra via sample from his Dr and compare that the side effect is there with either version

3 Months is soon to expect much of an erection, at not long after that stage I made the move to Trimix and it has been amazing, your Husband may wish to inquire with his Dr about taking that therapy route. It is 100% successful and cheaper than getting generic drugs

His blood pressure is very good. He's taking a full 100mg pill everyday. He's been doing that for the past 3 weeks now. He gets no side effects whatsoever. The nurse in his doctor's office told me that not everyone gets those side effects and that if he did, she'd switch him to a drug where he wouldn't get side effects. When he first came home after the surgery, we had a sample pack of the actual Viagra. He didn't have any stuffiness with that either. He had no side effects with the generic I got from One Dollar Pharmacy, so I tried ADC and the same thing.

ivy, then I'd say he is a lucky man to be able to take them with no side effects. As such, the return of erections when and if they occur may be the only proof that they work..and as Martha says....that's a good thing.... wink

Great news that he does not have side effects

Note: If he is taking the Viagra or generics to close to meals the medication is not getting absorbed, hence the no side effect.

On the Nightly News Hour (PBS) tonight they did a 10 minute segment interviewing the head of the FDA..They are going to start cracking down on shipments of drugs from overseas, naming India and Canada and China as the prime targets.

The usual claims that the drugs are ineffective, dangerous, impure, unregulated, unlicensed and unreliable were trundled out.

Apparently, the volume of these shipments is starting to cut into the U.S. pharmaceutical industry's profits..

Many members here have reported that some versions of Viagra that they get from ADC are effective and some are not yet they have exactly the same ingredient listed, so some of the stated claims do indeed seem to be validated here. If each one has the identical ingredient how would it account for one working and one not ?

I started taking Viagra and Cialis in 2002, had surgery in 2008. What I noticed very quickly, was that food/meals interferred so much with the ED effect. Anything greasy (hamburgers, french fries, salad dressings) and pasta would block Viagra from working.

So I would always take either medication just after work in the evening, before dinner. Or the first thing in the morning. Then they both always worked fine.

I have found no difference between ADC and US Produced versions.

I was curious about the PBS interview so I went online and read it. I am not concerned.  The FDA is drastically underfunded and undermanned.  They just don't have the resources. I pulled the following from the interview:

 

"..Miami is a good illustration of the agency's manpower shortage. Of the 36 million pieces of mail that come through here each year, 8,000 to 10,000 get pulled for inspection. But FDA employees, just three of them, are able to inspect only about 40 a day."

 

The FDA has a lot of other things on their plate as well.  Specifically, improving the safety of the domestic food supply amongst other things.

Hubby went to the doctor today. He wants him to try the Trimix. He said that 3 months is too soon to worry about the ED thing, but also said that he is in favor of the use it or lose it approach thus the Trimix. We'll give it a shot, get it. Ha ha.
