I have a question, my husband is thinking about
having the brachytherapy done, how can he find results of the doctors in our area or the hospitals. Anyone have any clue?
Thanks.

Hi dmc,
I added a topic as we now require them in posts. It should also help you get responses from the guys with experience with brachytherapy.

I would visit several brachytherapists and ask them to supply information. Make sure the doctor has done at least 250 procedures, 500 is better. He should use a Uro to assist him and scope the bladder right after the procedure. He should also do a CT scan 2 weeks later to verify seed dispersion. If the doctor does not do these two quality control protocols then don't let him work on your husband.
If really concerned you can travel to one of the better centers to insure that you are getting the best. Dattoli in Sarasota Fla, Grimm or Selvester at the Seattle Prostate instutute or the Chicago Prostate institute.

You are getting good advice. Can you post your husband's stats so we have a better idea of his condition
As you can see, I was a surgery guy, but my younger brother did brachy and it has turned out very well.

DMC, the only thing I'll add to JT's excellent advice to let you know that several of us on this forum are BT patients and seem to be pleased with our choice. For men who are good candidates for the procedure, it's a fine blend of being curative with better of quality of life than some of the other alternatives.
