a buddy sent me this article - don't know where or when it originated - makes a lot of sense and reflects what some here think of when talking about feeding or starving cancer cells ....

That article states exactly what my urologist has been telling me.

Bronson, sorry but this is a hoax and was not issued by Johns Hopkins.  This has been floating around the internet for years.  You can check this and other rumors out at www.snopes.com.

Information falsely attributed to Johns Hopkins called, "CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS" describes properties of cancer cells and suggests ways of preventing cancer. Johns Hopkins did not publish the information, which often is an email attachment, nor do we endorse its contents. The email also contains an incorrect spelling of our institution as "John" Hopkins; whereas, the correct spelling is "Johns" Hopkins. Yeah, that article had some things that are probably true (and helpful) but some of it doesn't make sense. Regardless, here's a Web site with a PDF titled "Challenging Prostate Cancer" that I found helpful; the section on nutrition discusses cancer fighting compounds such as isoflavones in soy, lycopene, and antioxidants. Hope it helps.

Bronson, thank you for posting a correction...I've gotten many emails citing research by Hopkins and almost all have been hoaxes. Guess those who start these things figure that if they attach a name like Johns Hopkins, folks will believe it!

Tud, we check out Snopes.com all the time when we get emails like these...my sister in law is notorious for circulating all kinds of emails with false information. It's a constant battle with many of our family and friends to get them to check out this "garbage" before cluttering up everyone else's inbox.
