Hi guys,
Well it has been over one year since my surgery and I am still leaking!
I am using 2 pads a day. At night I am pretty dry, although I use a pad just to be safe. I have spoken to the urologist and he keeps telling me to be patient. When I discuss the sling, he tells me thar I am getting ahead of my self Nd that I will be dry soon. I like my doc very much but I feel that I should be dry by now.
As for ED, the only thing he has done is prescribe 10mg twice a week, with NO effect. I am glad to be alive and after one year still be a member of the zero club, but when will I be dry And hard?
Please let me know if any of you are in the same boat.
Thanks,
Len

Based on what has happened to me, I would say your have good reason to hope and even expect improvement. I has operated on 12/15/10 and I am done continence wise and I am moving on to the AUS. As explained in another post, my sphincter is too short to work with. The fact that you have had any improved is great, I think, and I would guess that you still have a good shot at getting your sphincter and bladder to take charge. One of the guys on this board got dry at 15 months, or so. You could do what I just did, that is go to an uro whose specialty is continence issues and get the test run. I had a urodymanics and cystoscopy. Anyway, I am sorry to hear that you are in my wet club but you may have a ticket out! I hope to read your eureka! post soon.

Len,
Same boat here - about
a month behind you.

Hi LenB,
I just passed my 1 year mark and I still need one pad a day--sometimes two depending on my schedule (i.e., if I have to stand a lot, I leak more). I keep trying to see the progress I am making rather than comparing myself to the guys who are dry within a few weeks or months. Most days I am successful at being optimistic. As for ED: same general scenario. I use Viagra several nights a week (about
33 mg.) and then 100 mg before intercourse. Actually, I am now using only 50 mg before sex with the same results. While I am not hard like the good old days, I can penetrate and reach orgasm fairly quickly. Having a loving and patient wife is such a benefit! All in all, I expect to get to that normal plateau in the next few months.
Thanks for sharing your concerns. They made me stop and commiserate, while realizing that I am making progress!
Mike
