Kolin,
The needles I have been trying to use say 40,45,50, 55ML and and not
.04cc, .045cc, .05cc and so on, is it the same thing? said...
Later on you were wondering if .4 cc was same as 40 ml on your syringe -- which I am assuming now you must know is 0.4 cc = 0.4 ml and not 40 ml (and you don't really have 40, 45 55 ml syringes in your kit).
But as a public service to all the Metrically Challenged among us (must be the Yanks and the Brits only ??) I add this pretty nice web page on how to read a Syringe -- conplete with little photos and test questions (and answers).
I think any docs out there who read this site should really work up some good Syringe reading literature to give your patients. Just explaining things probably is not going to do it (especially when all the patient is thinking during the explanation is "Needle In Willy ... Needle in Willy .. NEEDLE IN WILLY" .. and all they hear from the doctor is "Needle ..blah blah .. Needle .. blah blah ... Needle "... !!
www.wadsworthmedia.com/marketing/sample_chapters/1401831222_ch07.pdfThey do show the really tiny Syringes (like 0.4 ml size) as well as some larger ones 3-4-5ml). So you can clearly see that even a 4 ml syringe is a monster. A 40 ml syringe would be for Horses or Elephants!!
Good luck with that!
