Congratulations! And many thanks for sharing your experience. I am sure you have been very helpful to many like me.

I am almost 4 years post-Davinci and am very fortunate to have only mild incontinence. Just three days ago I was at Duke Hospital, seeing a doc I have seen mentioned in these forums a few times, to learn if I am a good candidate for AdVance Male Sling. Turns out that I am.

But, the main reason I wanted chip in at this forum is to pass on something I learned to others who have not yet made their decision about the sling. I was told that, sometime in March, the FDA is meeting to consider a new and improved version of the sling, AdVance Male Sling XP. (Maybe someone who reads this forum can learn when this FDA meeting is to take place.) The Dr. at Duke believes that the modifications will improve the outcomes for sling recipients. If approved, the XP model could be available within a month or two. The XP has already been approved for use in Europe.

I hope this is information can be used to help many decide whether, and when, to pursue the sling option.
