I"M Back and First PSA Test since September

Welcome back from your trip. I hope the coming weeks sees a marked improvement in your wife's blood count and she picks up------ I think it is harder to see those we love under the gun than it is when we're the one facing the challenges. I admire your view of life Sonny ---- accept the things you can't change and change those things that you can. Tough that your son must relinquish his dream ------ but who knows ------- the big screen awaits.

Great to hear from you, sorry about the news on Lynn and your latest PSA results.  However, your comments were right on there is not a thing we can do about it so enjoy the moment.  I go for my next PSA Friday it is now 3.3 expect it to be over 4 since I am not doing anything to stop it, will probably discuss the HT route see what the doc says.  It is what it is and believe me I enjoy everyday and take none for granted.

Thank you each and everyone for your responses and kind words for both me and Lynn.

Been a little hectic since my post yesterday.

We lost Lynn's father about 4:30am this morning. Her mother and I have special relationship and we had a deal where if anything happened, I would be the one and only call she had to make. I told her I woud be there in 15 minutes and take care of everything else for her. She called me at 4:35am this morning. She is 81, a really strong person and had been the caregiver for her husband for the last 3+ years. Really tough times.

We just got a call from Lynn's doc this afternoon and they have her blood transfusion scheduled for tomorrow at 1pm.

We received some more of life's blessings on this one. Lynn is O negative and they said she could only receive blood from a female who had never had children nor transfusions, or a male who had never received blood. When the word got out in our circle she has had 5 people go to the blood bank who meet the qualifications and made directed donations for her. One of them is the husband of my nurse (the one I mentioned earlier who delivered the PSA news) she overheard our conversation at MDA and immediately volunteered her husband. She described him a big, hulking, health nut, firefighter. She called me about 15 minutes later and told me he had already left for the blood bank. It is truly amazing how people come forward in life to do for others. Sure helps keep the faith.

Lynn will need the blood and energy to get through this with her mother. He always intended to be laid to rest at his home in Tennessee with his mother, father and family. So we will cranking up the RV for a road trip towards the end of next week to take her mother up there. We have a lot of arrangements to make between now and then.

I will pop in from time to time here at HW. You may recall from past posts that this is where I come to recharge my batteries. The support, blessings and encouragement offered here to all of the members is what carries us through the dark days.

For what it's worth, and if you're ever in truly dire straits for blood, I'm O negative and have never received blood.  Does my PCa disqualify me?  I'm serious, though, if you need some O neg, I've got it, and would try to find some way to get it to you.
