Question which may sound stupid on AMS 800

I have two weeks to go - March 9th to activation of the AMS 800 at Cleveland Clinic with Montague.

I really looking forward to it - now at 8 pads a day sometimes.

When you use the AMS, do you push like you normally do to empty your bladder?

I read where one of us was pissing 7 foot even though he had the
AMS800.

Your answers would be appreciated.

2nd Question - I have the card in my billfold for the AMS but I am tempted to get the Medalert medal to wear as back-up warning of the AMS 800.

Any of you have that.

Peeing is normal the only thing that is diferent is that you can't pee until you open the cuff. My stream is way better than it was in the 5 or 6 years leading up to my RRP. All sensations of full bladder and urge to urinate are just the same. After three weeks of activation I have been leak free pad free. I don't even wear a light panty liner, just boxers. I will be glad to hear your report after your activation and hope you are as happy as I am.
Sometimes when i go to pee I forget and just pull it out and try to go and surprise nothing happens but a fairly uncomfortable sensation when my bladder tries to push against the cuff. I guess that after a while I won't forget anymore.

Stream is normal. Sometime after laying down and being inactive I need to push a bit. Also it helps to push at the end to clear a few drops. I still wear a light pad. Stress will cause some leakage like golf did yesterday.

I wear a silver medal as a backup warning. Not sure it's worth it but don't even know it's there.
