at 66 had enlaged prostate operation

69  2.6 psa

70  4.6               no biopsy yet

71 prostate cancer that went to hip bone

hormone therpy only no other altenative

shoould that 4.6 have red flagged a need for a biopsy? hope my question isnt dumb thank you

Welcome to our little group. There is no such thing as a dumb question here. I am sorry to see that the tumour is now in your hip but HT should hopefully make a dent in that. The numbers you posted would be considered normal for a man your age, especially one diagnosed with an enlarged prostate. The increase from 2.6 to 4.6 in one year would normally be a cause for concern but the enlargement may well have coloured your docs view. It is unusual to have metastases at such a relatively low PSA level but not unknown. Here's to the HT having the desired effect and knocking the tumour down.

guess i didnt mention it went from a 4.6 to an 8 when i was 72 I meant shouldnt that have red flagged it tx again friend!
