fulltlt, if I were back visiting with my family in Naperville today, I'd make it a point to go over for that Support Group meeting tonight, especially since that's where I had my seeds implanted. Please let us know if Dr. Moran is actually present at this particular meeting. Thanks and on one of my future visits to Naperville, I hope they will be holding a similar meeting on a Wednesday while I am up there.
Dr. Moran was there with Joan tonight. It was a very lively meeting. There must have been close to 70 people there. It wasn't all guys. Some guys come with their wives. Mine was there with me.
It's always the first Wed. of the month so plan ahead.
Some guys are doing Active Surveillance. One had 50 core biopsy with only one core positive.
Other guys have some serious cancer to deal with. One as young as 38 and another 46.
One guy had had a trans-rectal biopsy that nearly killed him from infection. That's something that you don't hear too much about
. There is a 10% chance of getting a getting an infection from having a trans-rectal biopsy.
There were some guys that have had seed implants and have had some side effects such urgency and frequency of urination. I guess that is one of the known side effects but I never had either of them.
