WOW !!! I don't even know where to start about this past weekend at GFMPH !! Well, first off, we got home this late afternoon, fired up the hot water heater so my beautiful lady could shower before driving the 22 miles to the hospital for her 12 hr. night shift. Found all the horses up and running, no broken legs. The cows are a grazing, sun shining, life is good.

The meeting at Cajun Jeff's was beyond any words that I can express in this forum. As one of you wrote, many laughs, and for me a few tears. You know that this weekend was important to me and "us" when you realize that I received phone calls from friends and family members in the West inquiring as to how I was doing at the GFMPH meeting. All of them encouraging me to enjoy and learn from my "brothers" in PCa.

As others have written, Jeff, Pat and their family are the best hosts that anyone could have. From the hotel arrangements, food, drink, weather, facilities, entertainment, etc, etc., everything was first class and expressed with sincerity and graciousness. Jeannie and I are, and will stay overwhelmed by this experience. Thanks to each of you, both "brothers" and "sisters" for joining up with us and making this all possible.

May you all know that we believe that each and everyone that we met in Cajun's Jeff's "Party" will be blessed in this life and the one thereafter.

More later, as I seem to have a little dirt in my eyes at this moment, making it hard to see the screen and keyboard. The memories are just a little overwhelming at this particular moment.

I can only say ditto to Dallas. Must have got some that dirt in my eyes too.

For the guys who couldn't make it, it really is unbelievable. I really anticipated that there would be someone who I couldn't relate to, but I enjoyed my time with every single guy. What an incredible time.

I would again recommend to all you guys start planning now for the fall get together at Worried Guy's place in New York.

Seems that you, as all the rest, are more eloquent in describing the weekend. Glad you got home and back in the routine without any unexpected events.

I'll just have to say it was more that I could have possibly expected, and shared with a crew that I'll never forget.

And yes, I can take a shot at cleaning up a house. No one here to do it for me, and I've learned, so I thought it could be my however insignificant contribution to peace in Jeff's house. I've seen what happened when my almost-ex walked in after a day with the guys skull

Hope the raid on New Orleans is going well! Wish I was there!

I'm sitting here in our hotel room in the French Quarter packing for the flight tomorrow. I should be packing and going to bed since we need to get up in 5 hours. But I can't. I need to say "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" to Jeff and Pat for opening their home and hearts to us this week.
You two are the perfect hosts in so many ways! I promise to return the favor the last weekend in September. Mark your calendar.
I will write more later, I really have to get off the PC, pack and go to bed before she kills me!
(Something must be wrong with my display- it keeps misting up.)

Jeff, Pat and I talked about the wk all the way home in the car. How great it was to be with you guys and how nice it was to have the 2 of you make the departure of all the HW guys so much easier by hanging behind for a few day. (nice adjustment time)

It is always nice to have plans. Looks like Hilton is in my furture for the fall. :)

Have a save trip home.

So sorry you didn't unlurk before the weekend, and come and joined us. The catfish and crawdads were fit for a king.

On the other hand, maybe you were there, but just lurked.

I'm home! The first thing I did (even before peeing!) was start a fire in the wood burner. During the week we were gone, the heat used 33.6 gallons of oil! You don't know how much it pains me to give that $120 to Arabs and Exxon execs. But it was worth it.
I am still smiling!

The squirrels have enjoyed the holiday but, as the Cajuns say: "Playtime is ovah baybee!"

After the dust settles I will send out a note with instructions for using the photobucket account. Try to limit your picture size and quantity so others have room to share. There is only 1 GB of storage. I will get the upgrade but even with the larger account is it possible to fill it if you are not careful and load it with full resolution pictures and many duplicates.

I am Cajun Jeff's brother and was at the GFMPH party.
I was so pleased to be accepted by the group.
From the time Cajun started planning this event he wanted to try to present as much of the uniqueness of Louisiana without losing the purpose of our get together. The introduction of the group to alligator sausage, bodin, cracklins, etouffee, and the crawfish boil were his attempts to make all feel special and ,IMO, he succeeded.
Aside from the social aspects of the meeting, the frank discussion on Saturday afternoon did more for me and, I think, for the group than anything else. There were tearful moments when men bared their soul, and happy moments when we discovered how some had overcome this or that hurdle.
Thankfully all have made it home and I , for one, am looking forward to September.
Sonny, our chance meeting at the service station meant a lot to me and your post brought tears to my eyes. I will try to post although I still feel I am not up to the level of y'all.

Hey, so sorry, I downloaded a bunch of photos. I had no idea that there was a limit. Let me know if I should go in and delete some of them, I would be more than happy to do that. God, I feel so stupid. Oh, and If one of my mud bugs' juices smacked you on the white pants and white shirt, I'm sure sorry about that too.We were all getting into it !! Like you did not notice. LOL

Bayou jackal - All I can say is you are an amazing man, and your presence at the GFMPH was a blessing for us all. SO glad that you joined us for the weekend, it would not have been the same without you.

Clearwatercowboy, I did the same thing. Loaded 17 pics and man are they some big files. I have gone through made the files smaller and will pull the ones I posed and re post some smaller files.

I think Worried Guy was ok with the crawfish splatter... Sure makes the pics interesting:)

Raj I agree with Clearwatercowboy you were such an asset to the gathering. I think each and every one that attended made the gathering what it turned out to be.

We are some very fortunate men to have had the chance to move our lives to the next level through sharing and friendships.

All I can say is how awesome the entire weekend was. Roger and Jeff are both incredible fellows who demonstrated true southern cajun hospitality at its BEST. (We know your spouses both contributed hugely as well.) You guys both made me proud to be your friend, and proud to be from Louisiana.

I have always had both admiration and respect for all of my PCa brothers, and those attributes have only been strengthened as a result of this past weekend. I have never in my life met such a fantastic group of men who showed such compassion and consideration for each other.

All I can say is "Wow!" You are all very special.
