One of Six "Highly Suspicious"

Ok so I received the pathology report and it does not have much information, except for one  note that got my attention.  One of six specimens was discribed as "highly suspicious".  My doctor has sent up more PSA testing in a couple of months and said that we will need to keep a close eye on the numbers.  Just wonderring if I'm on the path towards cancer?

Also there was a number at the end of each summary. All of them were 20 except for the highly suspicious one which was 30. What does this mean?

I think you will need another biopsy at some point. Taking 12 or more core samples is common.
The rise in PSA is suspicious as well. Good luck.

Did the biopsy give any indication as to the size of your prostate? It might explain some of the PSA number but the rise of two full points in a year's time is concerning.

It might be helpful to post the actual biopsy details here for a more accurate review.

Get a 2nd opnion on your slides from Bostwick Labs or from Dr Epstien at John Hopkins.

I'm no expert, but taking 6 cores seems an insufficient number to take.  Should you go for a biopsy again down the road, after 3 to 6 months, ensure the uro takes at least 12.  My first, and only biopsy, had one core of 12 initial Gleason 3+3 =6.  Surgery provided a clearer picture: Gleason 7 and more widespread than a positive sample in one core might suggest.
