Now that I have finally regained continence following RRP in 12/09 I plan on returning to bike riding. First total incontinence had me holding back on riding, now I have a new challenge. The saddle. Now that I have an artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) I will not be able to use a seat without a horn (nose). This pretty much means a "bench" style seat and I have narrowed my search down to the following seats.
Next Ride, Spongy Wonder, Hobson, Theseat (ERGO) and Moonsaddle.
There are a few others that I ruled out as they were built for people that just want a larger seat for leasure type riding like around their neighborhoods.
So has anybody used any of the listed seats for riding? what experience did you have?
Having an AUS, I will not be able to have any sitting pressure on my perineum because it will deflate the cuff and cause me to be incontinent while riding. THe doctor said that sitting on the cuff will not likely damage the device, but.....
What I think I want is a seat that will allow my sit bones to perch on it but will allow downward movement of my thighs without pressure on them. I never had a problem with the "narrow" seats some complain of and actually though them comfortable but not that standard type of saddle is out for me.
Any advise would be appreciated.
