Thank you, again, for all of your kind prayers and well-wishes.
The kids and I went to a family grief counseling session tonight at the hospice center. We have pretty good communication, but I wanted to take advantage of everything possible to get us on a good track forward. My son goes back to college in less than 2-weeks, so it was important to me to squeeze this session in. The hospice center offers individual, family and group sessions, and I may go back for more later.
Some of you may recall (I wrote about it here) that we had to put our family Golden Retriever down only about a month before Elaine died...I don't remember the date, but probably late May. It was interesting how it came out in the counseling session that we didn't really have much of a chance to grieve Sandy's (the dog) death because everthing going on with Elaine, who was back in the hospital for a 16-day stay starting about the 2nd week in June.
Anyhow, I was pleased that my kids agreed to go along to this session, and they actually participated! They actually commented at dinner afterward that they thought it was good...what a (pleasant) surprise that was to me.
