New Update....Not so good

Another forum member Ohio State was told to get prostate surgery and bladder removed (because of PCa invasion), even from the James Cancer Center (in Ohio ranked highly), he decided not to do so. His psa was 130 and found doubling monthly and none of his 'expert' docs put him on any drugs, he had no insurance and they wanted to gut him and do things their way or you get no options offered. Much later they got zoladex approved for him at no charge and he refused, because of its side effects and he knew that choices existed, even though the doc was playing the 'soup n_zi' game on him. The nurse even told him, without this injection you will 'DIE'. LOL- the medical system so far shows its beauty. Interesting to see this is proven wrong (atleast thus far) and very politically incorrect....excellent medical advice like this should be pointed out for everyone to see! She should be fired for taunting and playing such games with peoples lives.

So, with a psa that might have been near 200 a month after the 130 level he came to Michigan and visited a PCa seminar we have here and met an open minded onco type doc whom could not believe nobody put him on any HT therapy. (perhaps they were hoping for the patients best interests-????) Anyway he got casodex which is what he was wishing to try, did excellent with 1 yr. useage, psa went to around undectable, so far he is over 1 yr. now off of it and with excellent results (functioning well too). Each case can be different in PCa anyway. Isn't it in fact interesting that patients can challenge 'expertise' and still do well or have quality of life. Many patients are never told they have many options and choices and lead or mislead into specific agendas that are also no guarantees.

If you are getting chemo is it Jevtana (Cabitzitaxel)? That one seems to outperform taxotere and some others from abstract information, so why get inferior taxotere? You might ask MD Anderson do you ever use Leukine, Leukine+Ketoconazole, emcyt-DES-Estradiol (maybe along with chemo or other protocols) and what do they think of Zytiga and Provenge? Some facilities no matter how 'God like' there reputations are, have set protocols and don't offer patients choices, just so you understand the game alittle more.

Casodex should be given 14 days prior to Lupron or LHRH drugs, but they are 'experts' and have a flare for doing the right thing. (LOL) Flare 'T' surge is a reality and many docs ignore it and some are lucky that a patient doesn't have complications, in Dr. Strum's book one guy died from flare related issues, it was totally preventable (this the arrogance in the system). You said you were getting them done together on the 16th? As you see I question plenty of what goes on, and have hundreds of reasons why.
