I have to admit I was reluctant, but I was pleasantly surprised at the results (not the boner, but the "pain" of it all). Really, I hardly felt it. The maximum "bleeding" was a single, TINY drop at the injection site. Don't know about you, but I had an "injector" device that one can adjust the depth of injection, and "pops" the needle in for you. I had to "screw" (pun intended) up the courage to do it the first time, but subsequent times it was easy.

Sadly, I have not bothered to use it (or renew my prescription) for a year or so--it's emotionally...don't know the word...awkward, as the boner is there, but the lust/libido is just NOT. cry   I am *HOPING* that the Provenge I am on will quell the cancer so I can go off my HDT and regain some of the lost lust I used to have! *THEN*......!!

You guys are killing me. When I got home from the hospital last week I actually read the catheter instructions sent home. Para 1, page 2: "To reduce chances of infection, and to reduce the chances of pulling the catheter out, avoid sexual intercourse while the catheter is in."

"Avoid"? Not "Do not have"? Really?

I guess so. And if you can get one 2 days post op with a cath in, there will be no need for Trimix or anything else!

 I remember the  catheter nurse at the hospital telling me not to get stimulated and have an erection while the catheter was in and that was the furthest thing from my mind at that point. She didn't tell me to not have sex, but I guess one one can't happen with out the other anyway.

I had my first shot at the office,I don't know if it;s the PA or what but it hurt,the result was good at .015 dose for about hour,the next week I tried to do it standing and was unsuccesfull so PA gave it to me,hurt again,this was .025...this time it was not enough some wood but not rigid,I've had alot of shots that did't hurt like this so I'M wondering if this is the PA,i'm going too try doing it sitting down this week and up the dose.I tried the expensive Timm pump but it was pulling the scrotum up,could't stop it ,so I returned it 540$,I bought the ENCORE for 125$and it comes with a body shield that helped and it works just as good but still not useable for penatration.I hope I can give myself the shot this week,he won't give me a script till I can do it in the office.Has anyone tried EDEX,it is another brand but doesn't need refrigeration and is FDA approved.Hoping for HARDNESS!

Edex is, from what I've found,...alprostadil... the (most) active ingredient in trimix... and almost Caverject by itself, IMO.

Be careful with all that stuff. As another poster mentioned in another thread, the doses aren't linear.

 ie: a 10% increase could put you in the ER.

I've been to the ER due to trimix. Thankfully, all worked out OK without the painful blood withdrawal from a 5-6 hour erection.

When this stuff works good...it's great. Be cautious. It'll take a while sometimes to find the dose that works for you best.

Be patient.

Gams, It took me almost a month before I found the right dose of TRIMIX which is .65ml.  about the pain, what size needle is the PA using?  Most of us use a 30ga insulin 1/2" needle. I have no pain at the injection site at all. There is a huge difference between a 28 ga and 30 ga needle pain wise.

I always get angry when I see the Uro milking the system with multiple (paid) re-visits to 'get the dosage right' or some such nonsense. One visit, with a "here's how to do it" and see you later ought to be fine.

It would be much more convenient and efficient for you to try it yourself at home multiple times... over a weeks time and you should have the shots down pat and your member Up Right.

I guess you'll either have to show your doc you can do it, or just tell him to give you the darned script.

I have a question. I am new to this forum and I am new to trimix and my uro set the initial dose at .05cc I injected that and absolutely nothing happened. Nothing at all!Has this happened to anyone else? Do i need to contact my uro for a new dose amount or just try it myself. And how many times can i do it in a week? My gf is not pleased and my relationship is in stress mode Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!!! I'm looking for and desperately need a quick fix!!! HELP!!!!!

My first shot was 20 units of a low dose version of trimix. I went home, feel asleep and I woke up 6 hours later with wood. Luckily, The concern about having a six hour erection produced enough adrenalin to make it go down before getting to the uros office. I now take 50 mg of viagra 1-5 hours before and inject 2 units for a good hour of woopieee. My URO doesn't want to talk about my blend of four drugs because we are not suppose to do it, but it works for me.

dmetalman: the short term effects are GREEAAAAAT. The long term side effects are lack of sleep, a happy wife, strange looks from your wife's girl friends. Oh, did I mention PYrones diease? It rarely happens but stop injecting and talk to your uro if you start to notice a crook in your woody.That is why they tell you to alternate sides and only shoot three times per week.

Did the uro not give any instructions? Mine gave me a list of "next values", although the next one (.20) would have blown the poor guy off into space. I am very conservative about change, so decided to not make that big an adjustment.

I started with .10 (on a 1ml syringe). I moved to .11, not much difference, then .12, and finally .13, which was a trip to (aborted, but started) the ER.

The .10/.11 is good enough for me.

Some mention mixing pills & shots. My uro was absolutely adamant that such a mix was a disaster in the making. No pills on a shot day.

If you started at .05, move up slowly, but consult with your uro first.

is the plan for trimix to eventually get you off it and back on your own ? if that's the case
then its better therapy than ed drugs no ? also I read above guy was prescribed after 3 years , well
what about the crowd on here that says you have to start having erresctions after a couple of months on a regular basis or youl go atrophy ?

@seekeroftruth that sounds great, to the point i actually had to join to ask a question. Does anyone know where i can get this in the UK. Caverject is useless for me and i've heard so many good things about tri-mix. I once had a papaverine injection at the doctors which worked well so i can see this working for me also but i cant find anything in the country which is getting beyond. I heard from a friend yesterday you cant even buy injectable saline (yes, salt water) over the counter in this country now. Anyway, i just wanted to know if someone over in the UK had managed to get Trimix even if it has to come from somewhere abroad.

We have been boldly injecting for a month ( not daily dear Lord,) and it has worked very well for us. Took a few times to get past the stick, but now we are enjoying our bravery!

.11 is a 3 hour event for me. Challenge is participants. Best girl has gotten used to life without, and is almost upset when I suggest the shot.

I think I need a new GF. New options exist, but travel costs will be a killer.

TRIMIX
Men, I was having issues most of us were having with ED due to some of my Meds. I was about to loose all hope until I saw a Urologist and she suggested TRIMIX.... at first the needle part scared me.... With that being said I tried it.... I feel like a teen ager again... The first dose was to strong so I had to adjust to my body. NO more may will it work, no more "Up then Down".... no more head aches from the pills. With the one shot, with-in 10 minutes I'm ready to participate, whether it be solo or with my wife...lol.... Men, if you are having these issues, please give it a try. It gave me the confidence I haven't had in about 10 years. AND the cost is about 92.00 for 10 4cc shots, but that's what they prescribed, but after trial and error I only need 1/2 of 1cc to work. so that's over 40 shots in one script. Good luck fellows, its really changed my life.

I tried my first tri-mix injection last night. WOW. Within 5 minutes of injecting .2 I was rock hard and ready to go. Only problem was after the sex, I was still hard for a good 3 hours. After about 2:45 or 3 hours I injected the other side with the tri-mix antidote, phenylephrine. Helped get me a little soft, but after about 10-15 minutes I got rock hard again! I relieved myself a second time (by this point my partner had long gone to sleep) and after that I put an ice pack on my jimmy and finally it started to go down and was pretty soft. Still felt cocked and loaded as if I could have gotten it excited were there anyone there to have a go at. Started out awesome, but was definitely scary. Never had an erection that long in my life. A little sore today. Not sure if its from the sex and wanking or the two shots. First shot didn't hurt really. Antidote shot kind of sucked for a few seconds just because I was rock hard and had to use some force to get the needle in. I think next time I use it I will only go for about .05 and see what happens. .2 was far too much. My wife is a one and done woman. I don't have anyone to use it on for hours and hours. . .
