Yesterday was my 43rd treatment, so I am done.
My biggest problem has been with my bowels and wet farts. During the past week these have gone to a minimum eventhough I still was being treated. So that was good news. My bowel movements are still not like they use to be, but maybe they will be OK in time.
I had my treatments on a new machine that uses low dose CT scan to position the prostrate in the correct location for treatment. Basically, I was first laser aligned with the tatoo points on my thighs and just above my "johnson". The Ct scanned for the prostrate, than the table was moved to the correct position.
Also, on this new machine the plates on the radiation head is suppose to conform the beam more to the curvature of the prostrate. The radiation therapist showed me one day how the machine worked and the program with my prostate. You can hear the plates move as the head rotates around your mid-section.
Now for the 6 month wait until my first PSA.
Knock on wood......my EBRT was a breeze and my BRACHYs were a little more intense(mostly the recovery) and of course the HT was and still is a *****......but I'm still grateful for be diagnosed before it was too late.
btw what's your PC profile?
