Confused about Prostate

Almost overnight I noticed my urine flow was not the same, I went from denting the back of the toilet to pretty much a dribble. I ignored it for a long time until I started to notice that now i cant keep an erection and when I do get when its not the mighty oak it once was. I looked into it and noticed these were classic prostate cancer signs.

I finally went to the Dr. and they told me my prostate was slightly enlarged. They then did a test where they stuck a camera up the pee hole to, Im guessing check the prostate. The Dr said that everything looked good and were usure what could be causing my symptoms.

Does anyone have advice on what it could be or should I get a second opinion. Im starting to think maybe the Dr might have missed something, and Im betting my life that everything is ok just because he says so.

A sudden change sounds like it could just be an infection, thus I am surprised your doc didn't give you antibiotics, so a second opinion about that might help. (And if it is an infection, then watch out, as infections can raise the PSA level). How old are you by the way as you don't mention having had a PSA test (ie if you are a young guy then the doc may not have considered any need to do one).
Have you been doing any activities that might annoy the prostate like doing too much riding (bicycle, motorbike or horse), or having lots of sex.
And sticking a scope up the penis to look at the prostate will also irritate it and that in itself can affect the urine flow.

Either a secopnd opinion or a second visit to the same doc with some questions about infections etc might help put your mind at ease.

Two important things are missing from your post..Your PSA test results and whether the doctor (a urologist?) put you on antibiotics to cure any possible UTI or prostate infection...

He was examining your bladder & urethra (not your prostate) to see if there were any obstructions or problems there. As Fairwind and English Alf said, he needed to examine your prostate (PSA, DRE, etc.) to see if you had infections, enlarge prostate or something else.

Hey Trooper,

You need a PSA and a digital exam, with a possible biopsy follow up. None of which are any big deal.  May as well check it out now rather than down th road.
