I have considerable difficulty walking any distance. I believe my problem is "PAD", Peripheral Arterial Diseas. Presumably due to bad circulation in the legs.
Should I consider having stents installed? What else? I am 84.

Talk to your GP and see what he or she says.

I did, of course, tak to my doctors. One suggestion was to get stents. Any comment on those? Pretty "strong medicine".

germac,
be careful about
being talked into stents. my uro/surgeon is very weary of them, even for temporary use. he says he had seen bad results over the years. he said that they can quickly become embedded in place, and during the removal process, there is a high likelihood of leaving the patient with even worse and perm. incontinence and damage. with all the stricture issues i fought for 2 years after surgery, he would not do that, even though he thought it might help in the short term. said the risk did not justify the results. i believed him and never pushed for stents.

I had them put in my iliac arteries 4 years ago, where fine for about
a year and then they had to go back in and inflate them again. Been fine since then.
Left side was 70% clogged and the right was 40%. If your legs get tired from walking or carrying something it really helped in my case, but we all are different.
Good luck.
Neal
