I just completed the survey and also found it very interesting. The summation at the end was pretty dead on the money for me. I have forwarded this to my wife who is also a cancer patient.

Sonny, I am glad you found the survey interesting and that the ending was accurate. Thank you so much for forwarding the survey onto your wife.
Well wishes,

I'm wondering to myself (out loud) how many on this list tested out "high" on the neuroticism trait. If I were to hazard an unscientific guess, I would think it would be a sizable percentage. If indeed I am correct, I wonder whether soliciting listservs like this one might skew some of the results? Perhaps a question or more should be added to identify how the person learned about
the questionnaire and appropriate adjustments to the statistics would be in order? I'm no statistician and sucked at math so I could be waaaaaay off for sure. I guess its my high neuroticism demonstrating itself....

Hello again all - Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. To answer some of last week's questions:
Mel - Yes, I think you are thinking of the same Mike Hoerger, as he did in fact grow up in Midland Michigan!
On going back to read comments - Unfortunately, there is no way to go back and look at the comments at the end of the survey again. However, if you were really interested in reading them again, you do have the option of retaking the survey. If you do this, I just ask that you specify in the written section that you have taken the survey already.
On Neuroticism - Thank you for your thoughts and input. You are correct that it is possible and even likely for samples who choose to participate in a particular study to have certain traits in common. I couldn't say if this sample might be higher in Neuroticism, or perhaps in
openness, or Conscientiousness. However, as you supposed, there are ways to check whether there are common personality traits among the participants. After the study is completed we do intend on running this analysis.
Thanks again to everybody who has been participating in the survey. This week we had even more people participate than last week; It was our best week yet!
Well wishes,
Samantha

Samantha:
I think I had some Hoergers as students in Calculus.
Ask him!

Hi,
Mel - I'll definitely ask him and get back to you!
Questionabout
it - Yes, you are correct in noticing that there is some discrepancy where being treated, cured, or in remission is concerned. We are looking into ways to make this more clear, or accurate. Thanks for your feedback!
Best,

Hi all,
Just wanted to bump the topic incase anyone might want to take the survey who hadn't seen this thread a few weeks back. I'm glad everyone has found it interesting so far. Feel free to continue to express any questions or comments that you might have.

Thanks for bumping the thread. I had missed taking the survey. I found the feedback interesting indeed, and for the most part, accurate.

Just did the survey.
Having seen the comments above about
not being abkle to keep the answers I copied the final page of "results" and pasted it into a Word doc so I could keep it to read later. (And to show my wife!)
My results seemed to be a pretty accurate descript
ion of who I am! (Will have to double check with my wife!)
Thanks Samantha and team and good luck with the research.

Hi,
I am glad that you found the feedback interesting and accurate - Copying it to a Word doc is a great idea if you want to look back at them, or show your spouse!
Well wishes,
Samantha
