New therapy lowers PSA

I have written about my dad who was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer last January. After starting hormonal therapy, his PSA in June was 0.3, and in September it climbed to 0.5. For the past 2 months, he lived with us (Germany), helping with the grandchildren. Not sure who was happier during this time, my kids or my dad, they were playing, laughing, reading. He just flew back and scheduled another PSA test. I was hoping, given the past trend that it was still below 1 but was mentally prepared for a higher number, as well. Well, he just wrote me a message that his PSA was 0.055!!!!

Regardless of the studies out there, never underestimate the "grandchildren therapy" on prostate cancer!

Fantastic and lets hope those numbers stay low forever.

I have three grandchildren, two boys and a special lady of my own, however the little girl lives in New Orleans which is an 11 hour drive south for me so I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like.  I agree 100% that grandchildren are GFMPH!  I’m currently building a “parade ladder” for her as my wife and I are going down over Mardi Gras.  Best of luck to your father
