Also - if you have an annual out-of-pocket maximum, even if you have to pay, does this count against it? If so, paying outside the system hurts you for the annual amount. If it does not count against the annual max, then just get the best price.
No - I don't have an annual out of pocket - that's what I thought first - but now I can't change the plan for a year :) - Its an "individual plan" in NJ, which does not offer a max for two categories - "out of the hospital diagnostics" and "prescript
ion drug coverage". I had thought that these two would not cost a lot of money when getting the insurance, and looked at things like hospitalization, emergency etc.. Who knew all these scans are coming :).
