Excessive Bleeding after Davinci 2/2/12

New to board, surgery went well except excess internal bleeding kept me in hospital for a week. Hematoma in abdomen from ct scan. Got pretty bad hemoglobin went from 11 to 5.4. Got home yesterday.

Still supposed to get catheter out 2/16 (2weeks) but I'm skeptical

Anyone had this type of Issue? Impact to recovery? Other issues created?

Harley, had quite a bleeding episode myself while still in the hospital. The drain was filling up rapidly and i was really sleepy and apparently white as a sheet. They eventually got it slowed down and then stopped with some type of iv drip and i got several units of blood and started looking better. Thankful they didnt have to go back in again. I`m pretty tall and slender and the doc said when they aired me up my gut didn`t give much and tore inside creating the bleed. Also ended up with a hernia that had to be fixed so sometimes a gut pays off lol. Tim

Thanks for the note t-dog. Same boat, no gut to speak of. With all the research I did I never saw anything about blowing the abdomen up. Not sure how I missed that.

They had to give me 5 units of blood.

Your note makes me feel more optomistic, thanks.
