Guys, this is a similar question to my last one. I'm at week 5 since my LRP and this past week has been the worst for pain. Some days were so over the top I had to take percocet which I'd rather not do. This pain is actually worse than the first couple of weeks post-op. Anyone else experience this? I have the usual perineal pain plus scrotal. Thanks.

Having this much pain 5 weeks after surgery doesn't sound normal. Have you contacted your doctor?  I was virtually pain free by the time my catheter was removed. There is a common  problem for some with post RP hernias and that could be what is causing the pain. Either way make sure you talk to you URO and/or surgeon about the problem ASAP.

I should have included the fact I had some bleeding last week that I think put me behind schedule. Plus, my LRP was for chronic prostatitis. Most of us have pain that the cancer guys don't bc the nerves were receiving pain signals prior to surgery and continue afterwards. You're like a buddy of miine. He had his prostate removed due to cancer a couple of years ago and he said the only pain he had after the catheter came out was from his scar. You're very lucky.

I had DaVinci surgery, and thinking back, easily had pain issues, mainly perineal, for well over two months. I did take a Lortab some nights to be able to sleep, but could not during the day, as I was trying to work at least part time. Mine was apparently just pain of healing.

But, with bleeding and continued pain, I would be on the phone to the surgeon. I doubt mine would want to remember the number of times I called, but that is part of the process.

In this case, what you do not know certainly can hurt you, so stay in touch with the doc.

I talked to him last week. Should have put that in, too. My mind isn't very sharp since surgery.
