Pinching/Stinging feeling

Nearing 4 weeks post RP and all has been going astoundingly well so far as you would have seen in other posts.  In the past few days I've begun to have a nasty pinching or stinging feeling in the top of the penis.  It feels like someone is reaching into the tip about 1/4" with a small surgical clamp and pinching or stinging the tissue.  Could be an abarent nerve firing but boy is it annoying.  There are times when it is near constant (like right now), times when it is not there, and other times when it flares during urination.   Usually an annoying pinch, but sometimes it can be a strong sting that fires a nerve on the left side of the buttocks.

Anyone experienced anything funky like this or have any clues?  Is this just one of those funky stages in the healing process that will mellow?

I sometimes get a shooting sharp pain in my penis. It feels like the uretha was hurt when the foley was installed. It is getting better with time. Talk to your uro and he might prescribe something. I was given uribel for my pain. I have three distinct pains that come and go since surgery. One in my perineum that usually comes on when I'm on my feet too long. One is in my pelvic region that feels like an erection is coming on but more painful with no erection at all, and the urethail pain that I just described. When I told my uro about them he said it was just the normal healing process. My LARP was just three weeks before yours BTW.

I'm about 8 weeks post-op and haven't experienced anything like that. If I was, I'd be talking to my doctor about it...mike

Ten weeks and I remember that sensation along with many more weird stinging pains. Doc called them phantoms from surgery and that it will pass. Well, they did around 7-8 weeks for me. If it comes and goes it was like mine then. If constant, 24 hours I would talk to the doc. Good luck. P.S. Still leaking but getting better incrementally - like watching grass grow. redface

Sounds like mine is a lot like Pax. Comes and goes. I'll be seeing Uro in a few weeks. I'll talk with him then, but until then sounds like this is not indicative of a concern. Thanks for the confirmation.

Pax - hang in there on the leaking, progress is good. I've been blessed by being darn near dry since about 5 days post catheter. The last few drips that occur during the day are doing as you say, improving slightly each day. You'll get there.
