Sorry things are not going your way. On the question of Provenge I think you should do some more research. Read the FDA letter of approval. End point of the trials was a 4.1 month improvment in OAS. Time to disease progression was unchanged. A few comments on this suggested that they did not understand that aspect but it was deemed not as important as overall survival. My thought upon reading this was "darn, just keeps you in misery longer". Maybe I am missing something. My doctor quoted me a number similar to Ms WW's.
Maybe, there is a benefit for younger men or less advanced cases but that has not been proven. If your insurance will not fund this then you can go out of pocket if you feel strongly about the benefits or stay with a treatment they will fund.
Have you looked at trials? There is currently a call for particpants in a TAK 700 (? I think) 50/50 odds of getting the drug though. If you are interested I can find the link in email I received.
