Just got my 6-week post-op PSA --- 0.01 What an astounding relief that many of you understand. And for those that did not get such good news, I feel for you as I know the scary feel in my gut as I called the lab.
I see my local Uro in a week for my first check-up with him (surgury done elsewhere), but I already know the good news of the number.
At the 6 week point, I can't possibly be asking for anything better in the state of my recovery:
- PSA undetectable
- Continant. Get a small drip 0 to 2 times / day when laughing, yawning, passing gas. But that's it. Have not worn a pad since 5 days after catheter removal
- No Stress Incontenance. Even doing strong abdominal contracting activity such as tennis, or skiing steep moguls
- Getting erectile response to near full length though not rigid enough for intercourse while on 5mg Cialis nightly
I truly feel blessed with all of this. Being young and in strong physical condition, the continance is not much of a surprise. All the Uro's advised I'd likely have little issue. The erectile response this early is very surprising. Specially since the surgeon had to take an estimated 30% of the nerve bundle on each side to ensure margins given the biopsy info and what he found during surgery.
I'm sitting in the Colorado mountains under a clear blue sky having spent yesterday skiing hard with my son and friends. What a wonderful day to be alive !!!
