If you keep up with the national news, Cyber Bullying has become a serious issue across the country. There have been many incidents of gays being bullied so much on Facebook, Twitter, and even forumns, to the point where they take their own life. Same with kids that are different from others in schools, as young as elementary age, where they too take drastic steps, and even end their lives.
There is no reason for any member(s) here at HW to take on the stance of a Cyber Bully. It's a cowardly way to act toward another member. It shouldn't be tolerated, in my opinion.
We must remember, that many of us have had rough PC journeys. Some are on HT therapies, which already makes them vulnerable and emotional unstable at times. Comes with the treatments. While others of us suffer from Chronic Pain and Chronic Fatigue issues, both situations can wear a person down mentaly, physically, and emotionally.
There is no reason or justification for some to taunt other members, to pick apart their posts, to take posts or portions of posts out of context, to make themselves feel "big" or "good" about themselves.
The whole point to me, is that we are all fighting the same disease, Prostate Cancer. No one, in my opinion, has it easy. We each have our own "demons" to fight in our journeys. None of us our experts or medical professionals, we are peers with the common bonds of Prostate Cancer.
No reason for any person(s) to be utterly dogmatic and overbearing in their opinions. Each of us has their own knowledge base, and our own opinions, and even if one doesn't agree with them, they should still be respected. Each person has the right to articulate their views and feelings in their own personal way.
There are few rules here at HW, a blessing in disguise, so it's pretty easy to have freedom of expression, without crossing the line.
I feel strongly, that these incidents of Cyber Bullying, even here at HW, need to be nipped in the bud, for the peace and continuity of our PC brotherhood and community here at HW.
If you only reason to post something, is to hurt a fellow member, then look inside your heart and ask yourself, is this productive? If your only reason is to "score points" or "look big", then don't do it. You don't know what kind of suffering the recepitant of your ill remarks are feeling, and how it will effect their QOL when they read negative remarks.
