At what temperature in the refrigerator should trimix be kept?

Mine does not specify a storage temperature, but one could presume that if the fridge is good for meat and milk, it should work. My pharmacy has started packing the vials in a lined, opaque plastic bag to keep out light. I asked about that, and they advise that are getting more concerned about light exposure effects on the shelf life. They also now provide a smaller cold pack and suggest keeping that with the vials, and putting them against the back wall of the fridge to avoid temperature changes in the spring/summer.

It may be overkill, but I'll follow the suggestions to protect my $100 investment.

Do you guys know if one could go straight to trimix just 2 months out from RP? Or, do URO's typically start you on levitra/viagra, and then pump, etc. to see how you progress? Hubby has no issue at all with the injection, and says it is what he wants to have now. We see promising results, but not quite enough for actual intercourse using Levitra. He now has a VED, and that actually worked for several minutes last night (yay for us), but hubby thinks there are too many steps with the pump. Can one get an E-ticket straight to Trimix, OR is there a time line/protocol URO's use? I feel an email to his doc come Monday morning. :)

My uro/surgeon had me try each of the ED meds. My Rx is for Cialis, but he did find sufficient samples of Levita, Viagra, and Staxyn for me to try all multiple times.

Because they are different, I would expect to be told to try all of them before resorting to injections. You are moving from a pill that can easily be obtained (no cost discussion, just the mechanics of it) and taken, to a med that has to be custom-made at a compounding pharmacy, has a short shelf life, and has to be injected with the potential of painful ER trips and pierced urethras, as we have seen from recent poster's experiences. Yes, if you need it, and you get the system down to a science, it works where other things do not. But I assure you I would much rather have a pill that worked. No doubts there. None.

I would have more doubts about a doctor who would go straight to shots.

Shipper, I have been using Trimix for 6 months now, as for storage, I fill about 6 syringes and freeze them and what is left in the vial. For the thawing process, it only takes about 15 min for a syringe be ready, been doing this and never had a problem nothing exploded or cracked from the freezing process, after 6 months there seems to be no degradation in the chemical or results. I know some will disagree with this procedure but several people are doing it.

Walkbyfaith -- I’m seeing a highly respected ED specialist, who started me on Viagra.  When I saw him 7 weeks post surgery, I was not getting good enough results on Viagra (only 50% erections) so he started me on Trimix injections then.  His protocol actually calls for injections at 6 weeks post surgery if the patient is not responding to pills.  (We had scheduling difficulties that pushed me back a week.)  I agree with 142 that no uro would start anyone on injections without first trying pills, but then your husband has already been on Levitra (but for how long?).  Btw, Levitra and Viagra are quite similar.  My point is, depending on the doctor of course, you don’t have to try all the different pills, and the pump, before going to injections.  Actually my doctor says that vacuum pumps do not bring very much fresh blood into the penis so the oxygen content is low, therefore pumps do not do a very good job of rehabilitation.  They may help provide usable erections, but they are not very good for erection tissue rehab.

 

I think you and your husband should talk to your uro about starting Trimix injections.
