Great 2nd Opinion at Mayo Today---

Met with Dr Tzou and later Buskirk at the Mayo today and she went over my scans notes
from Sands and the MRI that I had done earlier this week at Mayo. Sands had identified
2 nodes obligatory. The one small one is non detectably after 3 weeks on Hormones and the other
one has shrunk. She explained everything to me and agreed that radiation was the
correct choice. Also, she recommended staying on the Hormones too as studies have
shown better results......I commended her on sharing this with me as this is what I have
read 300 hours on the Internet and heard from Dattoli. If I would have heard this at the
Mayo earlier I would stay in their program but I have made too many plans.

After the biggest chocolate milkshake that Arby's sells I informed my wife
that Dattoli is where I am putting my life.

Packing up my apartment in Jacksonville and may have another milkshake later.

This has been the longest, hardest decision I have made in my life. Burkirk is a very cool
Radiologist and I highly recommend the Mayo but as I said my ship has sailed.

Settling into a well thought out and planned treatment plan is quite the accomplishment, as you alone have to live with such a decision. Sounds like you did your homework well. Keep thinking about that Arby's Milkshake, almost makes me want to go for a drive and get one myself!

It was about the best thing I have had I 2 months. Been dieting but today I splurged. This forum has kept me sane through all this.
I know that this will most likely be a life long battle. One that I have finally accepted. I don't like it but we all have to play the hand dealt.
My mama always told me life was not fair...she was the toughest person I have ever known.

If you've never tried Arby's Jamocha shake, it is YUMMY!

jliggett - We are on the same path with Sands and Dattoli, about a month or so behind you. We're currently waiting for final report from Dr. Bravo and next steps in terms of appt with Dattoli and how many treatments Eric will have. We're very concerned with logistics at this point since we both have very demanding jobs in Atlanta, but we'll do what we need to do.
Congratulations on your decision, it's amazing how much better you feel once you get to this point.
